Anyone catch either of their shows so far? I missed the first one, but caught a little bit of their second show today. Sounded Alright, nothing special, but its only their 2nd day, and according to them, the studio isn't even finished being built yet. I know it is still way to soon to get a read on what they can and will be able to do, but I still say it's good to have them back in boston. I mean, they beat DLR hands down already, but that's just my opinion.

I'm looking forward to them, but I must admit, since Howard left I've been listening to Greg Hill and it's a pretty good show. I'll have to split my time between them, but fortunatly they'll both give me plenty of commercials so I can. :D

Yes, I too am a hillman fan. I wish O&A were still on in the afternoons so i could listen to both of them. But, like you said, there are more than enough commercial time to listen to both shows. And hopefully, with the arrival of O&A, Hillman's show will step up to the competition and make their show even better. Overall, a little O&A/Hillman competiton might be a good thing for boston radio.

I've not yet heard the shows but the feedback I'm hearing is positive.

I'm sure the show will get good. Im wondering though what they will to get get themselves thrown of boston radio for the third time???? they'll have to top themselves somehow! maybe the will display a photo of Joe viglione and the prophet Mohamad.............

Other than sitting in Stern's chair, is there a reason for them to broadcast part of the show from one studio and the other part from XM?

ohhhh, you got me! i didn't spell it right!!!! oh the shame of it! forgive me board!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D and all hail JV the great prophet of unwatched TV shows! :-*

I'm an hour behind, so I keep missing the 8AM hour on the east coast.I can say that when they pop over to XM, it's been REALLY funny. Pat Cooper was on yesterday and absolutely destroyed. No way can CBS run that portion. They're so much better than they were on WNEW. The show's really grown.Congrats to D&C for getting all the #'s Greg Hill thought were his when Stern went away. And WEEI just continues to roll...Did they get to keep the Sox or not?

Too bad "grown" equals few impressions from Anthony. It's still to early in the CBS show but that's been missing from the XM since the show began there. He needs to drink in the studio.

Paul,Someone has to step up and correct the absurd misinformation you continue to pass off as truth on this board. Perhaps the ratings data has not reached you in the midwest yet. Your former station actually did quite well in the latest book. Your replacement in afternoon drive was ranked number one Men 18-34. Your last two books at that station you were ranked 4th and 5th in that demo respectively. Contrary to your comments about D&C, your former station's morning show is ranked number one Men 18-44, ahead of D & C.Perhaps your time spent posting on this board would be better spent doing some show prep.

Boston or Wooooster?

Yeah...probably. Funny. Julie Khan's memo didn't mention any of that stuff. Just talks about how great WEEI did.#1 in Mornings, And believe she mentioned something about Afternoons being #1, and having a huge lead on the next closest competitor.Someone's lying. And I couldn't care less. Thanks for the slam though.

oh, no problem. It just sounded from the tone of your post that you DID care. No biggie. There's no "lying" when talking about numbers. It's pretty easy to look them up. Unfortunately, the numbers don't lie, right?

Actually, it's not. I just think that it's important people have their facts right when posting on these boards. If Paul wants to take a backhanded slap at his former employer, that's fine, but he should be held accountable when passing along false information.

This must be Joe "I have no talent and have never been on the Radio" V speaking. . . Take his comments with a grain of salt - he has about 50 usernames and all he does is slam people. He is the cancer on these boards. . .
Nah. I don't think it's him. I have an idea who it is, and it's all good. See...that's how this works. Someone tries to bait you, and if you respond the way they anticipate, it makes them feel better about themself.Fact is...I didn't win my last couple of books. I accept that. Obviously Ron Valeri's vision was the correct one. They've moved on, and so have I. I still have interest in what happens in Boston because it's my home, and I grew up listening to WBCN, and WAAF, when I lived in an area I could actually hear it.But, quite frankly I have no vested interest in seeing anyone do better than anyone else. I have friends at both WAAF, and WBCN. I wish them all well. I agree, and disagree with moves made by both stations. But, I work for neither. So, my opinion is just like everyone else's...a voice on a message board. When I see a memo from the cluster GM that states how WEEI crushes everyone all across the board....as a previous poster said...the numbers don't lie. Somebody's either presenting incorrect data, or putting forth spin.I don't recall ever stating that WAAF didn't perform well. I do remember saying I think Matisyahu and the Violent Femmes sound awful on WAAF. I stand by that opinion. But, obviously the numbers say otherwise. So, what do I know?Congratulations Carrie, Greg, and Co. on your book. Let's see if you can keep it going in the face of a changing competitive situation. Good Luck!

Paul, I'm sorry you are offended by my request that you stick to facts. If you aren't really interested in what is going on at your former employer's place of business, I would recommend that you don't read Julie Kahn's memos. If I misunderstood the tone of your original post, I apologize.
