O CANADA

Sitting in my living room here in Brockport NY surfing the FM band and it seems as if I'm picking up nothing but canadian FMs. I'm even picking up canadian signals on a couple of local frequencies (92.1 & 103.9)! As phil collins would say "there's something in the air tonight"!

 Hold on just a minute. 103.9 from London Ontario...right?

Not to be confused with Toronto's 103.9 FM (targeting the gay community as "Proud FM")
...not that there's anything wrong with that, lol
Just verifying what you've picked up.
Toronto's 103.9 is a very weak signal, so I doubt that's the one anyway.

Just logged on to report the same, and saw your post.

Listening to “Quinte’s Greatest Hits” 95.5 Hits FM (officially Belleville, Ontario) – clear as a bell — right now.

I just happened to stumble across it and, at first, had no idea to what I was listening. A Google search quickly turned up this:

http://www.classichits955.fm/contact.htm

Also, I confess that, though a lifelong Rochesterian, I had never heard of the so-called “Quinte Region” of southern Ontario — a straight shot across the lake from Rochester. (I do know of Belleville, however, and used to get frequent calls from there to the “Jukebox” on WKLX/WBBF. So, its big signal regularly made it there — but hearing 95.5 Hits FM here is a first for me.)

The signal @ 103-9 wasn't overly strong @ all and best I could tell it played jazz. I'm familiar with Bellville from my days listening to the montreal expos on CJBQ 800 AM growing up! As for 92.1 it was the jewel out of branford nov.

WJCA signed on in 2001 as part of the calvary chapel network. They switched to the jimmy swaggart ministries some 5 years later. I'm surprised that during the canadian invasion that I didn't pull in CFNY!

Good signal on 92.1 I've never tracked how far east they go, but I know they're a regular (local strength) in the Falls.

For the record; it's Brantford... not Branford.

Resurrecting a bit of an oldie, I know.

Having said that, qman, if 'best I could tell it played jazz' was heard on 103.9, at around 10:30 PM posting time, you probably were picking up CBC Radio 2's Peterborough transmitter. The program heard would've been The Signal, where Laurie Brown definitely could've spun something with jazzy undertones.
