Oakland A's continue Bloomberg 960 relationship

Last season they tried internet streaming exclusively but a few weeks into the experiment they negotiated to return to the AM dial. This year they're not making that mistake.

I've never been able to pick up 960 on my dial radio in San Jose day or night. But at night I can receive stations even further away than 960 like the A's 50 kW Sacramento affiliate KHTK 1140.

The Oakland A’s need to do like the LA Angels did where the LA Angels bought and owns 830 AM KLAA. Imagine if the A’s buys a radio station locally...that is an answer solved for their radio broadcasts and they could also put national syndicated ESPN or CBS Sports radio too...

The catch is that radio goes from a revenue source to an expense. It's really hard to turn down money when iHeart offers it to you, and they also pick up the expense. When you own a station, you have all those expenses to pay, including transmitter, tower, studio, and staff. Much easier to have someone else get stuck with that, and you stay with what you know, which is baseball.
