Tom Taylor's column notes the sale of WMSG-AM/WKHJ-FM/WWHC-FM up in Garrett County to Mike McKendree of Johnstown, PA for $830,000. Beautiful spot when it's not snowing.
 
These are interesting stations. They are prime examples of doing the best you can with what you got and still sounding local.

WKHJ 104.3 is a Hot AC...live in AM and PM drive. Dial Global programming other times...with CNN news.

WWHC...92.3 THE TRAIN....is Dial Global Hot Country all the time.

WMSG AM 1050 is ABC "TIMELESS", with ABC NEWS.

The stations actually sound good. their small staff has been around for some time. I hope the new owner doesn't mess with them too much. I understand he has the sports station in Johnstown on 850...the one with the 9 towers. Anybody know if he has any other stations? I think 850 is LMA'd...not sure on that.
 
I do have another station WWGE! WKGE is under an LMA at this time. And thank you for your advice. The staff is great and have welcomed us. No messing is planned!!! I like these stations and would like to take them more local if we can.

Thanks for the interest. I think we are just going to do a game of the week this season, which we have the staff for. Maybe next season we will do 2 or more games a night.
