Obama to address the nation at 7 pm tonight

I would hope KYW would not air a campaign speech. It was not news. It was a campaign speech preceeded by an e-mail campaign asking supporters to watch and send a donation. Therefore any radio station carrying it should have demanded that the Obama election team PAY for the time!

The only two stations on either AM or FM I could find carrying the Prez speech was Philly's WHYY-FM via NPR and WDEL via CBS radio in Wilmington.

Obam has announced for re-elecion. Yet KYW continues to air on a regular basis the ad/psa he recorded for some volunteer thing. That should be illegal.

I'm sorry to hear that President Obummer is running for reelection. I had hoped that Hillary would have challenged him. That would have made for an interesting election next year. That's a good question. Even though that is a PSA, can that still be aired now that he's announced his reelection bid? Does that mean KYW will have to give equal time to all 7 GOP candidates? What it probably means is someone at KYW isn't paying attention to their PSA's.

No, they do not have to give equal time to all of the GOP candidates. The rules are that equal time would apply to those in the same current race. In this case, that would be the Democratic primary. Once the general election was underway, then an equal time provision, if requested by the GOP nominee, would apply.
