Obama to address the nation at 9 PM ET tonight

Why are you asking this question Julius?

Usually the networks either DELAY THE START OF or PRE-EMPT programming due to events like this nowadays. It depends on the network & the amount of yakking they do

Cheers :D

Oh well. They could join in progress on the summer reruns.the 10pm and the 11pm news will be skewed off its time slot.then the late night programming will get skewed off it's start times.all the late night syndie shows plus infomercials will run later or some will get pre-empted for the stations can fall back to normal time.Anyway thanks for the heads up.I will stay onlne longer and leave the boob tube off for an hour.

In the case of "MasterChef", a rerun will be seen nationwide tonight after the President in ET/CT, after Hell's Kitchen in MDT, and at the usual time on MST, PT and westward, no doubt enabling Fox to join it in progress and start the 10PM / 9PM news on time on local stations. Tonight's show will be seen tomorrow instead at 9PM ET, in place of the episode scheduled for tomorrow:

It won't mess you up if you live in California, does it?

Usually, what happens in California in these situations is that some or all network programming for the evening is cancelled. I assume this is because advertisers don't want to pay for reaching only part of the country. So the local stations plug-in local programming (another Seinfeld or Friends rerun, or whatever), and the local news starts at the regular time.

Update.Yes all the late night runs got bumped off their start times.I had a couple of timer set shows.they were all screwed up.For some reason WNBC was colorbars last night. No Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon and the ruruns later. I dont know it it was WNBC or it was Comcast goofing around with their digital upgrading.

I'm just now seeing this, but I didn't know until I went to my TiVo and "Two and a Half Men" was on and seemed to have just started rather than about to end when I selected "Mike and Molly". When I selected "Two and a Half Men" I got the President. I thought both his speech and Boehner's speech were really good. And despite being more liberal than conservative, I pretty much agreed with Boehner and his attitude. I do think the rich should share in solving the problem, but I get why corporations can't be asked to pay more. They just pass it on to us or move offshore. And besides, their income is already taxed when the stockholders earn it.
