Obit: Ann B. Davis, 88

http://www.latimes.com/local/obituaries/la-me-ann-b-davis-20140602-story.html

The actress, more best known as beloved housekeeper Alice Nelson on ABC's "The Brady Bunch" (and its subsequent revivals) died this weekend at her home in San Antonio, after suffering a fall and not regaining consciousness. She was a two-time Emmy Award winner in the 1950s, for her work on "The Bob Cummings Show"; Ms. Davis spent the last near-30 years of her life doing religious mission work.

To baby-boomers like myself, who grew up with reruns of The Bob Cummings Show (re-titled Love That Bob!), Ann B. Davis will always be "Schultzie." She played the assistant to Cummings' swinging bachelor photographer. It occurs to me that if this show were around today, Cummings' character would be more like Charlie Harper, and the diaglogue would be decidedly more explicit. The show also featured a pre-Dobie Gillis Dwayne Hickman.

Naturally, Schultzie always wanted a relationship with Bob, but he only had eyes for his models.

Here's a clip featuring Davis and a young sexy Rose Marie (believe it or not).
