Obit:Bob Denver(1934-2005)

I have just learned on MSNBC that Bob Denver who played Gilligan on Gilligan's Island passed away Friday at the age of 70.

RIP Gilligan.

A sad day in the world of sitcoms.I enjoyed him not as only as Gilligan but as Maynerd G. Krebbs on Dobie Gillis.

I assume TVLand/Nick-At-Nite will pay tribute to Mr. Denver.<P ID="signature">______________

Anyone have any Gilligan trivia??

I know that Gilligan's first name was Willy.

And Jonas Grumby was either the Professor's or the Skipper's name, I cant recall which.

What was Mrs Howell's first name??

What was the Professor a professor of??

Why did the castaways take so much clothing for a 3 hour boatride??

If the Professor could make a radio out of a couple of coconuts, why couldnt he fix a hole in a boat??

And, was the Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island pretty much the worst reunion movie ever made??

Ok, someone already posted some Gilligan trivia on the National tv board including the info on "Willy" as Gilligan's first name.

The Skipper's real name was Jonas Grumby. The Professor's real name was Roy Hinckley.

In response to Mrs. Howell's first name,it was never mentioned except that Mr. Howell called her Lovey and that Mrs. Howell's maiden name was Wentworth.

And also in response to the Harlem Globetrotters On Gilligan's Island being the worse reunion movie ever made. I have to agree on that one. Trying to put in Martin Landau and Barbara Bain of Mission Impossible to spice up the movie didn't help matters much at all. Return To Gilligan's Island was the best one of the Gilligan's Island reunion movies by far.

Who thought it would be a good idea to do a Gilligan's Island reunion movie featuring the Harlem Globetrotters? Was it the same person who thought it would be a good idea to make a movie featuring the Village People and which would be directed by Nancy Walker?

Gilligan was a one of a kind TV character!

Now he's up in heaven chowing down on all of the coconut creme pies that he can eat!

RIP Bob Denver!
