Obit: Brian Carter of WDAS' "Carter & Sanborn"

(I'm an idiot - I meant to imply in the subject line that "Carter & Sanborn" had been heard on WDAS as well as WUSL/Power 99, where they had been established for 13 years. Technically it's right - but with a huge oversight.)

56 - way too young to go.

I'm in shock. I was just writing with him on fb Friday. Always good for a chuckle or a great R&B Philly fav like Billy Stewart or The Radiants post. I will sorely miss him. I don't like Mondays.

Brian Carter and I became friends the day he was hired by then-B104 Baltimore PD Jan Jeffries in 1982. Thus began a wonderful 30-year friendship. His talents were unlimited and his loyalty was fierce. He was family and as close to blood as you could get. This past Saturday night, BC pulled together B104 friends PD Steve Kingston, Don O'Brien (The O'Brien of Brian and O'Brien), news god Sean Hall and me (Mr. Midday) for another one of our lively Facebook online laugh fests. Who could have known that the angels would take Brian on to his next journey mere hours later? It's almost as if BC knew this was going to be his final earthly rendezvous with the B104 Boyz. Like all who knew him, I'm devastated that he was taken so young (56) and extend my deepest condolence to Brian's children, family members, co-workers, friends and fans. You will always be my hero, L'il Bro! Nothing but love from your Big Bro!
