Obit: Charlie Callas,

Callas was a regular on Switch in the mid 70s, with Eddie Albert, Robert Wagner, and Sharon Gless:

The SF Chronicle obit mentioned that Johnny Carson blackballed Callas from The Tonight Show after he pushed Carson out of his chair as part of the hilarity. Charlie's comedy could be a bit manic.

I believe "Candid Camera" had Charlie portraying a poor man at a diner, who could only afford a donut....he was asking patrons if he could dunk the donut in their coffee. That would certainly be "taking a chance."
