Obit: Dennis Cole

Death has been exceedingly busy this year. Here is one that many of you might have missed:

Actor Dennis Cole died Nov. 17 at the age of 69. He's probably best known for being Mr. Jaclyn Smith (for three years) but he had guest roles in many TV shows starting in the mid-'60s with the TV series "Paradise Bay" and "Felony Squad."

He was a regular on "The Young and the Restless" and was also seen in "Bracken's World," "Bearcats!," "Medical Center," "Police Story," "Fantasy Island," "Trapper John, M.D.," "Murder, She Wrote" and "Charlie's Angels."

He was a regular on "Felony Squad," playing Det. Jim Briggs,
whose father, Desk Sgt. Dan Briggs (Ben Alexander), was also
on the force. Howard Duff played Det. Sgt. Sam Stone; I
remember articles about the show that called him "Sam Spade,"
the part he had made famous on radio in the '40s.

Didn't Jaclyn Smith dump Cole for some other guy?

Any ways if it took a month before anyone realized this guy died, that should prove just how important he was in show business.

Actually,

I posted about it last month when I first saw an online article about it. But you are right, Carmine, there have been a few passings this year that didn't hit the news right away...and it does seem there has been a lot more uses of flowers and limos this year than most. Tuesday's USA Today had a 2009 list, http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2009-12-22-passages-2009_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip , that took up 1 whole page and part of another.
