Drummer Milton Holland died Nov. 4 in Los Angeles of complications from Alzheimer's and kidney failure. He was 88.
He recorded with artists including Frank Sinatra, Henry Mancini, Ry Cooder and the Beatles, playing on dozens of gold and platinum albums. He was also responsible for bringing exotic percussion instruments such as the tabula to Western recordings.
