Obit: Fess Parker known for playing Daniel Boone dies at 85

I hope he got a percentage of all the coonskin cap sales in the 50's.

He went through enough just to get his share of the profits
from "Daniel Boone," which he co-owned. The accountants
at 20th Century-Fox claimed there weren't any (standard
comeback) but he knew that there were and successfully
sued to get them.

From what I understand he spent his later years as a real-
estate developer and, I think, even operated a winery in
northern California. He made a great deal of money at both.

Gee, I wonder if some cable network is going to air a "Daniel Boone" marathon this weekend in Fess' honor...

(yawn)

Still waiting...

Parker made his fortune in real estate and his winery. The guy was an astute businessman.

At one time Parker, Bob Hope, and Bing Crosby were some of the largest land owners in the Hollywood and surrounding areas.

James Arness appears to be one of the last TV legends of the 1950s still around.
