Obit: Henry Loomis at 89...director of Voice of America in late 50's/early 60's

In the late 70s, he was President of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) which funds some functions of NPR, PBS and many public radio stations in the US. I met him several times at NPR affiliates meetings when I was working in public radio. His family had a private island off of Apalachicola, FL called St. Vincent Island, which is now a National Wildlife Reserve maintained by the US Fish and Wildlife Department. The island was given to the US government by the Loomis family.
