Obit: Irving R. Levine, 86, longtime NBC newsman

I remember hearing a story one time about Levine. I have no idea if it is true or not. He was reportedly covering an international monetary summit at some luxurious island resort. He was doing his stand up on the piece and in his ever present bow tie and suit coat. Another camera filming off to the side was said to prove he had on the coat, shirt and tie but Bermuda shorts and barefeet were not visible in the head shot. Somehow, the mental image of that always made me laugh whenever he was on the news.

I remember Levine doing a lot of filmed stories from Rome in the 60s and 70s and then in Washington in the 80s before his retirement.
