I went with a "dilithium crystals" reference in another thread.
That was always my favorite Scotty remark/quote. :)

What about on one of the Star Trek Movies, when he turns to Kirk, and said "Captain, I know every Inch of this Ship", and then BAMM, Bangs his head on a Beam during construction of the new "E" Class Enterprise!

He must've knew every inch of the other ships in the fleet: In "Star Trek III: The Search For Spock" he disabled the Excelsior, which was supposed to replace the Enterprise.

Favorite Scotty Scenes/Episodes

My two favorite "Star Trek" scenes involving James Doohan's portrayal of Montgomery Scott:

In "The Doomsday Machine" (originally broadcast in the Fall of 1967), the Enterprise encountered her sister starship Constellation, which had been badly damaged and barely escaped total destruction after being attacked by a giant automated space weapon that also destroyed planets--including one where the Constellation's captain (played by William Windom, who soonafter would star in My World And Welcome To It") had beamed down the other 429 members of his crew in an unsuccessful attempt to save them.

The Constellation's damaged but partially-operational impulse engines were rigged to explode and destroy the weapon once the starship was inside that weapon. Captain Kirk (William Shatner) had to stay behind long enough to activate a thirty-second detonation sequence and then get beamed back to the Enterprise. But the ship's transporter system had shorted-out just before Kirk was to be beamed back on-board. Although there were several times in the original series where Scotty would somehow fix things in time, this was probably the most critical such job, as the transporter had to be fixed quickly enough for Kirk to be beamed back before the Constellation exploded, hopefully taking-out the automated weapon with it.

Of course, Scotty fixed everything at the last possible second. Kirk was beamed back, and the Constellation, now inside the "mouth" of the automated weapon, exploded, taking-out the weapon's power.

Also airing in the Fall of 1967 was the classic episode "The Trouble With Tribbles", in which the Enterprise visited the K-7 space station and Cyrano Jones (Stanley Adams), a merchant onboard K-7, had sold some Enterprise crewmen some tribbles---furry little creatures that multiplied at an alarming rate.

In one scene, Klingons had visited K-7, and Scott overheard a couple of Klingon battle cruiser engineers say some unsavory things about the technology on the Enterprise and other Starfleet vessels. This raised Scotty's ire, and he started a flight with the Klingon ship's engineers, aided by several other Enterprise crewmem who were visiting K-7 at the time.

What's your favorite scene or episode involving James Doohan as Scotty??

Trials and Tribble-ations

Scotty is not pictured in this tour you must take, but he was at the Bar!

Oh, that's an easy one! The 1986 Star Trek IV film: "The Voyage Home", where in that one scene he sitting in front of a 20th Century computer and he begins to give audible/voice commands to the computer---but the computer isn't as technologically advanced as he thinks it is, so therefore, it doesn't respond to his voice commands! Great scene! Especially the perplexed look on his face!

Great quote. My favorite scene. From Star Trek II The Wrath Of Kahn. Admiral Kirk arrives via shuttlecraft to inspect The Enterprise. When he meets Scotty, Kirk asks 'how are ya, you old spacedog'? Scotty replies, I was suffering from a wee bout, but Dr. McCoy pulled me through. We then see Kirk, McCoy minutes later on the bridge, as Captain Spock instructs Savvik (Kristie Alley) to 'Take Her Out' (referring to The Enterprise out of spacedock) Kirk almost has a fit. Good movie. May James Doohan Rest In Peace.

On another note. You'd think Sci-fi channel or maybe even TvLand would run a few Star Trek episodes in tribute. But so far nothing. Note to TvLand. Gunsmoke & Bonanza are good shows. But need a serious rest. No more blocks or pointless marathons please.

Then McCoy hands him the mouse, which he mistakes for a voice input device...almost as hilarious as Scotty using a keyboard on the Macintrash, as if he's going to accomplish something useful with it.

That whole Plexicorp sequence was a great one. Posing as an Professor Scott from Edinburgh, feigning shock when he finds out that he doesn't have an appointment to tour the facility. "I can't believe that I've come millions of miles..." (McCoy corrects: "Thousands! Thousands!") "...thousands of miles on an invited tour...!" When told he'll get a personal guided tour, "Well, that's different then!" Motions to McCoy, "May my assistant join us?" On the forklift, McCoy growls, "Don't bury yourself in the part!" The self-satisfied look on Scotty's face is priceless...he's definitely enjoying himself.

In another movie, Kirk asks Scotty for a time estimate on a repair...
Scotty: It'll take 8 hours, but you don't have 8 hours, so I'll do it in 2.
Kirk: Have you always multiplied your estimates by a factor of 4?
Scotty: "Of course! How to think I keep my reputation as a miracle worker?

How that scene rings true in the workplace!

My favorite scene in this episode was when Scotty entered the holodeck. The holodeck was activated and an exact replica of the original Enterprise bridge appeared. <P ID="signature">______________

"Keyboard. How quaint"

Then launching in furious typing of the formula for "transparent aluminum"

Oh, every little thing about that scene was absolutely hilarious! Star Trek IV was my favorite Star Trek movie.

You left out the best part of that episode: At the end, under orders from Kirk to get the tribbles off the Enterprise, Scotty advises the captain that "he found them a good home" ... he beamed them to the Klingon battle cruiser right before they went to warp. (Tribbles, recall, HATE Klingons.)
