One of the most-familiar character actors of the '60s, Malachi
Throne, died Wednesday at age 84. He was perhaps best-known
as Noah Bain, Robert Wagner's boss on "It Takes A Thief," but he
also portrayed False Face on "Batman," and was (except on one
occasion) billed as "? as False Face." He seemed to turn up on
sci-fi shows a great deal: the original "Star Trek," "Lost In Space,"
"Land Of The Giants," "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea," and
"Babylon 5" (which introduced him to a new generation), although
he did make one guest appearance on "Mission: Impossible."
I have to admit I had a jolt when I saw the headline "'Batman' Actor
Dies At 84," since Adam West is the same age. But the two men looked
nothing alike, and Throne's picture was there for all to see.
I saw this on AOL but there are a number of websites reporting this;
type in "Malachi Throne" and you'll find them.
