Obit: Merv Griffin dies at 82

...he said for years he was going to issue a DVD package of his Orson Welles interviews (including the one he conducted with Welles within hours of Orson's fatal heart attack). Did that ever make it to the homevid market?...

In USA Today and on a TV Guide channel tribute, mention was made about Merv's talk show being a daytime affair. In Indianapolis, Merv was on for an hour on indy channel WTTV-4 from 9 to 10 pm. (Which is what we watched when the President was on all of the networks.) Mike Douglas was the daytime show as I remember. (from Philly)

Was Merv a daytime show in most other places? and where?

In Cleveland, WEWS Channel 5 for a time ran Merv 6-7 or 7:30, later after Captain Penny's Cartoon show was banished to mornings only then canceled, Merv was on 4:30 0r 5-6. When CBS had Merv at 11:30 at night WJW-Channel 8 would actually tape delay the Late night show to air at 4:30 the next day. Don't know for how long though...
