Phil Harris from Discovery's "Deadliest Catch" has died. He was 53. He may have had a stroke.

Wow, I leave the country for a week and find out that my favorite captain from DC has died?!?
Not only did he suffer a stroke, but it happened as they were unloading Opilio Crab (Snow Crab to most of us) at St. Paul. Discovery Channel's crew was there and was reportedly filming when it happened. From what I could gather, he seeming to be doing better in the hospital for a while - then passed suddenly on the 9th.
I started Googling this because of seeing the promos on Discovery Channel about the Tribute to Phil Harris and wondering WTF was going on. Honestly, what a sad story.... My deepest condolences to Phil's family.

And, in a sad postscript to this, Phil's youngest son Jake was just arrested for DUI after wrecking his car in Seattle last night.
Discovery hasn't decided how to handle the stroke and Phil's death in the upcoming season of DC.
