Obscenity On Radio

I know folks make mistakes, and there is probably a lot of things going on at a radio station where extreme multi-tasking is required. How come (if it is possible?) radio stations cannot be on a 30 second delay?. I know talk shows are on a delay.

Probably not that necessary with all of the voice tracking done lately.

Since the Janet Jackson ignorance most stations have switched to rated G versions of songs, like the Who "who the &%$k are you" and Pink Floyd's "Money" are just not the same songs. I'd just as soon them not be played than altered. Imagine what Elton John's "The B*^ch Is Back" would sound like if that word were edited out?

Thats not true. Your top 40 stations are playing David Guetta ft.Akon - Sexy Bitch(instead of the g rated sexy chick). I hear more use of the words bitch, ass and a slight edit on the f-bomb

After 6pm.

Maybe the times have passed me by, but when did it become acceptable to use profanity after 6pm? I thought midnight was the earliest.

I was always under the impression that 10 PM to 6 AM was considered 'safe harbor" time.

No thats all day

The only station I've heard play the Sexy B*tch version was Pulse 87, and that was back when it was on 87.7.

I'm VERY glad I'm retired if you guys are radio's future.

I have to agree. I'll never forget when Stern went over to satellite radio. People went out and bought satellite radios and paid monthly subscriptions, why? to hear somebody curse and talk sextual. Now that he isn't on terrestrial anymore, he is no big deal. He was only controversial on terrestrial radio, on satellite he's just another face in the crowd.

Howard craves attention. If someone will have him and pay him, he'll be back on terrestrial. I suspect Farid Suleman will bring him back if there's any way.

Guess you never listened to Wired then. they play the Unedited version at ANY time of the day.

I'm more offended by the grammar in that song than the language.

10 p.m. is when FCC indecency regulations don't apply. 6 p.m. is when music stations that cater to 18-34 women assume that their listeners are no longer in offices.
