Obscure Oldies Internet Station?

I'm looking for a good internet station that plays more obscure oldies. In other words songs besides the same 300 you can hear on terrestrial radio or 600 you hear on Sirius-XM. My main interest is from 1966-1973 as I like the one hit wonders and local groups who may have only released a single or two. I'm not sure if such a station exists but if anyone out here listens to a station and can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chad

Too bad you didn't catch me back last year before I pulled the plug. For 7 years I ran an oldies webstream that topped move than 13,000 tracks from 1954 through 1989, including Top 40, Hot 100, bubblers, specially-chosen album tracks and much more. I finally threw in the towel since the royalty rates just don't make it viable for the small webcaster to make any money, let alone break even. While it was a labor of love it hemorrhaged money like crazy and all I had to show for my efforts was lint in my wallet.

It's funny you mention that web site, Johnny. It was Rich "Brother" Robin who inspired my format as he spearheaded the format change of the former KCBQ back when they did oldies. It was executed quite well and I did pretty much the same with the exception of the large focus of deep oldies on my stream. I'll have to give Rich's stream a listen when I have a bit more time.

The best one is Oldies radio 1650 in N. Dallas. It's the best alternative since the old 60's on 6 XM.
As long as there are no re-recordings which has noticably nearly diminish. And you love old AM commercials...this is it. Only criticism I have is that he programs alittle too tight and clips the first split second note off a intro. He tries to be as top 40 as he can, but it's alittle overdone. Stations weren't that tight.

Thanks a bunch for that richbroradio.com link. I like what I have been hearing so far. Songs that were hits (for the most part) but never get played any more. Just what I wanted. Great stuff so far. Starbucks: I'm sorry to have missed your stream as it sounds like my cup of tea. This richbroradio just played Gingerbread by Frankie Avalon and now is on Sugartown by Nancy Sinatra both big hits but ones that get ignored by the lousy radio we have now. Perfect.

Superjukebox.net is a really good Live365 streamer for deep cuts. There's several other Live365 streamers worth a listen too. Check also foreign stations (UK, OZ, Europe, etc.) as a lot of big hits there were minor hits here (and vice versa).

And check out our 50s/60s station Radio Bop at radiobop.com with a playlist covering the entire Billboard Top 40 from mid-1955 through 1965...and there's all-60s BOSS RADIO Radio Bop 60s at radiobop60s.com featuring Drake-inspired formatics and the Billboard Top 30 from 1960-69...not to mention ROOTSofROCK.US playing all of the charted pop/R&B/country hits that we have been able to locate from 1944-54...

Thanks for the links. I really like Boss Radio covering the Top 30 from my favorite period. Now if I can find one that does what RootsofRock.US does but covering 1966-1973 that would be perfect. I love Top 40 as I like a variety of music all mixed together. Yeah, I'm weird. ::)

Atlantic Oldies 2NG. We play a few thousand from the UK and US from 1955-1985. It's a wide range. Found on my link below, iTunes and Windows media guides.

We also have a weekly show, Rare 60's flashback where Roger plays some actual vinyl. (Consider that some UK songs that are rare were hits over here!).

Oops, I forgot to post... ME!

Just two Chess classics from the early 60s that I've never heard on terrestrial that I play:

Yeh I remember those and have both 45s .... I remember the late Hy Lit used to play "Rinky Dink" as bumper music going up to the news at :55 during his Sunday night WIBBAGE Hall of Fame oldies show.

I have played both the Steve Alaimo song and Rinky Dink many times thru the years. Both were hits. The best internet oldies "station" I have found is Rich Brother Robins. All of the tunes he plays were hits. It is sad that so many of them were tossed aside when they were, and are, just as popular as the 300 list of burnt out work horses. KFXM 96.7 Lancaster, Ca. has a stream that is pretty good as you hear a lot songs not played on oldies stations, but it is not nearly as good as Rich Bro.

Glenn Sauter does a live show (different than his syndicated one) on there as well.

As a frequenter on Both Sides Now, one of the members there runs the station.
