OccupyWallStreet on air?

101.9 FM News could gain a lot of cume by becoming the official station of the Wall Street Occupation. Then again, their staff will soon join the protest once the station fails.

Isn't WBAI, or even WNYC AM or FM, covering the protests?

I've seen elsewhere complaints from people that BAI, whose studios are in the Wall Street area, has been slow on the switch on covering the protests, perhaps because the Carribean blacks and Latinos who seem to be controlling the station aren't taking the white kids seriously.

"Democracy Now!" has been covering the protests, but they moved out of BAI years ago after Amy Goodman's clashes with management over alleged sexual harassment. I believe their current studios are in Chelsea.

And NPR, like the rest of mainline journalism, didn't take the protests seriously at first--and I suspect NYC followed along.

Well, considering how some are saying how minuscule the throngs of protesters are, when compared to other major protests, that would certainly be the perfect route! ::)

Going to the 92.3 side of this, I heard the morning girl mention how some people are pulling a "woodstock" down there, which somehow the Verizon strike was brought up.

And by pulling a Woodstock, I'm sure she was referring to all the garbage piling up. Reports of people going to the bathroom on cars.
