I live in Freehold and, under normal cirumstances, there's no problem. But when I drive down to Toms River I do get some interference (but not a lot - except during temperature inversions) from WVBH on 88.3 unlike in the past. So, I guess the answer is yes - not that WBGO ever had a lot of listers south of Toms River anyway.
But I have a bigger problem with WYGG on 88.1 in Asbury Park. That station creates problems for WBGO throughout a good chunk of east-central Monmouth County. Sorry, WYGG supporters, but from a technical standpoint, that station shouldn't be on the air. If you want to say that's true of a lot of stations put on the air in recent years, I would agree with you.
I've said this in the past and I'll say it again. We are witnessing the AM-ization of FM. The FCC seems incapable of learning from its past mistakes. And so-called "HD Radio" isn't going to solve anything.
