All I can say is .. WOW.. Look at the Fan on FM... Even the Hot AC format never scored that high .. Looks like the Buckeyes are doing big favor to WBNS-FM's PPM score.
93.3 is still being wasted, no question. It is by far the lowest-share big stick in October. No other big sticks even come close to doing that poorly -- even with their increase to 3.6, which is actually closer to what I had expected them to do in September, given rumors about the pre-currency numbers. (And yes, I realize this is just 6+.) Add the fact that it's providing a duplicative format in a market that is short on really good signals, and it is still a perplexing and stubborn, utter waste of that signal's potential.allstar2003 said:-WLZT might be stronger than I hear from around here.
I have read the "93.3 is a waste of a big stick" threads and comments but I have taken a look at there numbers. For you all wishing for WTVN-FM, It not happening soon.
They have put a pretty decent numbers (3.2 and 3.6) and their cume is not that bad (avg around 305,000 for the two months) Now with Christmas coming they are about to goose the number at a very good time for them. Now, they are not anywhere near WSNY's Ratings (6.0 and 5.7) or its cume (avg of 426,000 for the two months) but it does a good job of doing what it's suppose to do of chipping away from WSNY.
Now, their Soft Rock 93.3 branding and formatting that a completely difference story (For the Record, I'm hoping they move 106.7 down the dial to 93.3 and WLZT goes to 106.7. But alas I can only dream and I just made the case for that not to happen, didn't I?)
Nu_Roo_2 said:I agree that 106.7 should move down to 93.3, especially now when Gen-X can use a boost to help ensure the 0.4 points it dropped in October isn't the start of a trend. Gen-X is a "poster format" for CC nationally, and National Sr. VP Programming Jon Zellner's baby. You would think he and the company would want to prove that the format has legs in PPM, and Columbus is the only PPM market with this format! So why they wouldn't move it down to the far superior signal at 93.3 makes absolutely no sense to me....

It's one thing if you've existed in the market for years or are heritage like WGRR in Cinci, but to flip to a classic hits format these days is tough to work with. You have A LOT of heritage stations in Columbus. Although, Big 1065 is showing some light in Dayton.

I understand that AM is yesterday's news and that WYTS doesn't have the big power of WTVN, but there has to be something worthwhile that can be done with that station. You can't tell me that bringing back the WCOL calls and playing music from the WCOL heyday would do worse than they're currently performing.
I'm not telling anyone how to do their job... but there has to be something than can be done with 1230.
