Louisville October 2023 Trends 12+

Congrats to WAKY for coming in 2nd place.

They have about 4 signals and I wonder which ones get the best numbers in Louisville.

It's kind of unreal that this station has the numbers it has and no one is trying to compete with them.

WAKY has selected SLR (Single Line Reporting) where Nielsen combines all of its 100% simulcast audio, whether AM, FM, translators, HD or streams, in one combined listing. The station can buy, for a fair amount of extra money, a breakout. But the rest of us will not know which signal gets how much audience.

Wamz at one time was always number one followed by 840 Whas. Both had dbl digits. How times have changed. When radio stations use to have all 80s stations say twenty or so years ago they didn't do well. Now 80s seems to do well on what use to be 50s and 60s oldies... 80s is the new oldies. Not my thing but to each there own.

Alt 105.1 over the past 90 days made a noticeable shift toward Active Rock, with the shift being especially pronounced within the last 60 days.

Much of the gold library now consists of staples The Fox used to play when it was on analog FM. The station does still play a number of alternative format staples, too. The current music direction reminds me a lot of KPNT in St. Louis.

Today was the first time I've noticed Pantera in the playlist, with not just one but two cuts from that iconic heavy metal band.

While 105.1 will never be anything more than an also-ran, the station's 12+ share is now the best it's been in a long time.
