October PPM's

I don't miss the Point. Hot is certainly worse, but it's all crap anyway. The entire FM radio spectrum here in Tampa sucks. I used to listen to some 88.5, but lets get real, they suck hard too. Unless you like limousine liberal type stuff (88.5/NPR), churchy stuff, or the same 20 songs of any given format... there really is nothing to listen to on FM in the Tampa area.

The entire FM dial here needs a makeover, and anyone who says otherwise must be getting paid to say so. And can someone please tell me why Cox insists on flooding the airwaves with the following tired old songs on their terrible ass stations...

The Eagles - Hotel California, Guns & Roses - Paradise City, Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven, Bob Seger - Nightmoves, Nirvana - In Bloom, Motley Crue - Girls Girls Girls... and so on... Why (under any circumstances) do we need to hear "More Than A Feeling" 10 times a day. I f***ing hate Boston, but they could at least play a different cut off that album. I hate you radio suits. Whichever Kabrich wannabe had the idea that we needed to play MORE "More Than A Feeling"... somebody needs to torture them by forcing them to listen to any Cox station for more than 2 hours at a time.

God, I hate Cox so much. They're making me hate their playlists even more than CC. There are millions of songs recorded everyday. Pick something new for christ sakes!!!
 
Cedric....unfortunately that certain "something" that makes great Program Directors is missing in todays radio stations. Corporate PD's are dictating playlists from their office thousand of miles away from the market and have no idea what the local audience is about. There is no connection with the audience instead the audience is force-fed music.

I'm not sure how that can be considered as "serving the public"..but that's todays radio.
 
Even the Dove is getting repetitive. They seem to adding classic hits and it is the same ones by the Eagles or Billy Joel. The music on Play and Mix sounds close to exactly the same with MiX adding a few 80's. I still give CBS some credit for keeping Q105 close to old time radio and still playing 60's. WPCV should get credit for staying live and playing some classic stuff. But I think of all the companies, Cox sucks worse for the listener. I have no opinion which one is worse to work for, CBS, CC, or Cox.
 
Welcome to the world of corporate GENERIC radio... and yes, it DOES SUCK !!! Try Radio Whitfield though.. while still limited, it is far superior to most commercial ventures locally... 96.1 but VERY local...Seems the pirates and LP's do a better job than those commercial ventures...

I didn't mean the statement about Cox Radio being the worst of the major groups in Tampa Bay to read quite like it came out
 
I think CC does a better job at making their stations "sound" local. I'm not saying they do a good job, but they do a better job than Cox. Cox is on a mission to make people turn their radios off.
 
I think CBS is better than CC who are of course better than Cox
