Odd Effect

The IF images on the TV sound radios were some of the most negative aspects of them. The sensitivity also left a lot to be desired on most. You would also get harmonic images of UHF stations on the VHF band. And after cell phones started using the upper part of the UHF channels, they outlawed TV sound radios for UHF, because you could get images on the upper TV channels. Given what you could hear and listen to legally, that made no sense at all. The only TV sound I get now is from stations in Canada.

Nor are they useless in the few areas still using the OIRT band (66-74 MHz).
