Odd TV Memories

Not to bump this, but i remember one time back when i had one of those big dishes, CBC switching to another game, because the Montreal Forum lost power. I'm pretty sure the game was canceled, and they switched to the Capitals-Devils game, where Chris Cuthbert was was there by himself with 2 cameras. It was so weird. It was just Cuthbert and the two cameramen stationed in the old Capital Center.

I have thought about starting a new thread about this, but this seems like a good thread to put this. When the Iran-Contra hearings were going on in 1987, I remember CBS airing coverage from like 9am to noon Eastern. At noon the affiliates broke for local news. Now this is where it gets interesting. WBTV aired Top O’ The Day at 11:30 am for an hour for a decade, as a result it aired TPIR on a one day delay. During at least part of the Iran-Contra hearings they aired Top O’ The Day from noon until 1, then the Price Is Right from 1 until 2, then the $25,000 Pyramid at 2. Then I think they went right back to the hearings. For whatever reason the soaps were preempted. I don’t remember how many days this lasted but I remember it like it was yesterday. Now most affiliates may have aired the $25,000 Pyramid at 12:30, the regular 10:30 game show at 1 and TPIR at 1:30. WBTV didn’t clear the 10:30 game show. I just thought it was weird watching the CBS game shows in the afternoon instead of the morning. I’m not sure what the Mountain and Pacific Time Zones did.
