Ofcom sets out initial rules to protect radio on smart speakers

I live here, and even I can't decode this UKgov waffle.

With regard to U.S. platforms being required to do things under UK law, they are more likely to go the way of Imgur and just turn off their service in the country rather than deal with the hassle and over-complex regulatory requirements. With a UK IP, the whole web is plastered with those purple "content unavailable in your location" boxes now.

That's what a VPN is for. Blocking websites never stopped people from torrenting and it won't stop people from listening to what they choose to. Nor will the UKs ID requirements be successful.
