Off-topic - Quiet here lately?

To staff - you can move this if it's in the wrong section.

I've noticed that it's been pretty quiet around this board lately, and especially now with the new layout.

Myself, I like the new layout, tons of new features and stuff + it's easier to reply. Only gripe is that I had to reset my password to get back in with this same account, but that was easily fixed once I got access to the email address I was set up with and changed it to one I use all the time.

But how are you all liking the new look? Curious as to how many people will stick with their old accounts and who will get new ones? I've seen one or two newcomers here, and one or two people who seem like returning members on new personas. Welcome or welcome back, whatever the story is!

Hey, what happened to the Anonymouse, KevanGC? It's not just this board, the Texas TV board has all but died. Give it some time, I think the change frustrated some people and they said "the heck with this!" or something to that effect. It may take a little time, but most everyone will be back. You know, we radio nerds can't stay away for too long. Board withdrawal is nothing to mess around with! Lol.

You did make my point with this thread as to why San Antonio and Austin have no need to split the boards up though.... :\

The black background thows me off a little.
Me too. With so much contrast I find the board more taxing to read. For something like this, if I don't enjoy reading it, I won't read it as often. The folks who run the board could fix this problem by offering an alternate skin in more muted colors.

I mentioned that same thing to the moderators, longhorn, and the next time I logged on it was white, with black letters which is much easier on these tired old eyes. I still have the white background, so there is something that can be done about the color inversion. Drop the moderator a message and they will correct it for you. They have been friendly and quite helpful since taking over the site.

Hey, what happened to the Anonymouse, KevanGC?

Seems this board might have a bug and now shows the username in certain areas instead of the display name. My username is still KevanGC, can't change it. However my display name is Anonymouse (at least right now), and Anonymouse should be the name to come up on the topic's page. I've seen other people show up with two names as well.

I think I saw some display options in the account settings section, go look. :)

*update* I got in touch with a moderator and they fixed my username, Anonymouse is it now.

Maybe a lot of people lost their passwords and gave up. I had to contact the admin to get my password reset after the change.

Absolutely HATE the new design here. Black background, white text boxes and YELLOW and BOLD YELLOW (for unread) titles? Who came up with THIS?

Hasn't the admin put in display options in the settings? If not, they should, or at least change the default view to something others like more.

I personally don't care about the display much to be honest LOL.

Maybe some of you have seen this before in the Upgrade FAQ forum, but there is a site specific workaround for display colors problems. I can't speak for IE or Chrome but FIREFOX (the browser I use exclusively) has an add-on called "NoSquint" that's fabulous. I have this site set to display black text on a light gray background; it's very easy on the eyes. You can also also use NoSquint to adjust text size as well as the overall page "zoom level" for this or any other site.

The only thing I see that can be changed is font, font size and font style. I don't have a problem with any of that. What I want is a different skin that isn't stark black and bright white. There's only "Radio Discussions Theme" to choose for a skin.
