I have made it official policy in my office that the radio will not be set to any Adult Contemporary station until they stop playing "Hey Soul Sister" three times a day, every day, like they have done for the past year and a half. Anyone else following suit? Even though Classic Rock isn't everyone's cup of tea, productivity and morale have already improved.

My HOT AC still plays Hey Soul Sister five times a day lol - and my CHR still plays it three times a day
atlantaboy, isn't B98.5 playing it? I'm sure they'll consider it a "current" well in to next year.
I hope this song burns eventually. It's terrible. I hear this awful group all the time between "Drops of Jupiter" "Calling All Angels, "Hey Soul Sister" and "Marry Me." :'(

HSS is quite a catchy song. I'll admit to its overplay, but if it tests well with its audience, then AC will still play it. Now, "Marry Me" on the other hand...my girlfriend loves but I hate it.
Add me to the list of those who are sick and tired of "Hey Soul Sister" as well. It's use in that stupid Samsung commercial in which the kid designs his own refrigerator was enough to sour me on that one, both the commercial AND the song!

Actually, professional offices shouldn't be playing AC at all until they get rid of Bon Jovi and Lady Gaga.

Are we sure though that the main purpose of the AC format is to provide lite background music in banks?
Maybe the banks should invest in satellite radio, Pandora or Muzak if they want to get lite music.
Maybe some banks out there like to rock.
