OFFICIAL 93.3 THE BEAT IS ON IN JAX

Its official its 93.3 The Beat now on in Jacksonville. Also Doug Banks is out and Steve Harvey is in as the new morning show. This is a big wow...and right now 93.3 and 92.7 are simulcasting.....this is now going to lead to speculation to what will happen with 92.7.

And here's the difference between us: You ran to Radio-Info to report the news, while I sent out a bulletin on MySpace, because I KNOW some of my friends will be asking me about it...I am sort of a Mark Schwartz in some circles, as I have been out of radio for so long, but people still come to me as if I know all about what's happening. Of course, I credit all of YOU for that. ;D

I predict 92.7 will continue the simulcast as it is downgraded and then sold. By then, everyone will (or should have) made the switch. That's a lot easier than launching "filler" that the new owner will just blow up anyway. Otherwise Rooster would/could have continued there.

I see that The Beat will continue on 92.7, no need to waste effort forming other programming and it will provide for a nice transition. It's a successful format for Clear Channel. They'll go with the flow. Whoever ends up with 92.7 Hastings probably won't have that same format. Has a buyer been identified for 92.7 Hastings' CP??

That's my view from the cheap seats...

Well it seems the simulcast is going to end on January 2 when the full transition for the Beat is completed at 93.3. It was reported in the Times-Union that Clear Channel plans to end the simulcast, but they are unsure whats going to be programmed on 92.7 come that time.Does anyone take a guess they launch an Oldies format? I don't see anyway for country to reappear on that Channel...that would just be dumb since they just killed Rooster.

Let me guess.. its plays nothing but crap? Sorry about the loss. I have to tune in on the JAX node.

It's one of the highest rated stations in the 47th market. Good R&B and Hip/Hop format. How in the world does your clock radio pick up the New 93.3 The Beat????????

Bet you wish you had a kickin station like this in FWB and Navarre. The fellas at Hurlburt Field would love this station.

Ok.
Why not keep the simal cast going? 93.3 does not cover st augustine well.
I have a question.
There is WFBO from flager beach on 93.3 as well. Wonder if that's why 93.3 can't cover parts of st aug? I was thinking about that the other day. now mind you, WFBO is an lp station but i was wondering if that was a factor. maybe 93.3 should jump to at least 60000 watts? i think that would help them. or put 92.7 in st aug and run a simal cast. I think that is what would cc should do. i think it would help them.

Clear Channel is having to remove 92.7 from the market and sale it off and i doubt the new owners will want to simlucast. 93.3 can not boost its power due to 93.1 in Savannah and 93.1 in Daytona being a minor factor but a C1 on 93.3 can co-exist with a C3 in Daytona. To go to 60kw 93.3 would have to upgrade to a C1 which will not work with a C1 in Savannah.

With heat inversion, 93.3 certainly beats on our door at The Blizzard. But we've signed an LMA deal to move to a future non-com full power. In the end, we'll cover St. Augustine, Ormond and Daytona.

Yeah, it was especially brutal Monday morning when I was passing through the area.

What happened with the CP at 100.7?

A local condo association denied our request for the antenna, so we gave up on the freq. move. I believe the heat inversion issue would have remained the same with Movin 100.7 anyway.

ah ok. i don't know about the c1 stuff. i never thought of that.

Can I assume a freq change to 97.7 or there about is in order for WFBO?

Bigger than that chananiwh. Interesting, how you would bring this freq. up.

Are you the former pirate that was on 97.7 in Palm Coast?

so 92.7 gone? or is it stil simalcasting. you jax people are gonna have to keep me up to date on this one. i'm gonna start listening to there stream and see how they sound. i remember dxing from st augustine in hopes of getting 92.7.

No, I am not a pirate, just informed. I have no gripe with you, just the illegal actions of an LP station that makes it harder for other LP owners and operators. I live in Jacksonville and work for the government.

If you do work there I can understand you standing up for them and employees like you, unless you're the owner, are a treasure to have and I respect you for protecting them. But, truth must prevail for the LP's benefit all around the nation.
