Just another example of well intentioned people with probably little or no previous experience using radio as a promotional medium for whom the cold dark reality hasn't set in yet.

Remember the countless numbers of folks burned by the Battaglia-era WALE, who, because of that experience, will probably never use radio again?

I'm wondering just how long this "Universal 7" experiment can last on 1320 before either the participants become disillusioned, or more likely......the money runs out?

It's amazing to see what one company can do to ruin 2 stations. I remember when 1320 was WARA, doing a solidly-produced full service format for the Attleboros...How the mighty have fallen, there and on 990...

Obviously there are certain people who should never even be allowed in a management position. They single handedly destroy Businesses. Mr B's track record will never be forgotten. I wonder what city he is busy destroying Radio in right now? If this was a perfect world he would be working as a janitor at a Mall in Iowa. That would be some well deserved Karma for the awful way that he treated people for so long.

In a perfect world, the "punishment" would be far more creative, and closer to fitting the "crime".

My idea would be to make him go up to the transmitter site in Burrillville, and (using only a hand shovel)......make him dig up and replace ALL 720 ground radials in the antenna system with his own money, and then re-bury them with the hand shovel.

It might be the only way the present 990 ownership could ever afford a new ground system. ;D

I'd add this layer : replace the bad tower and also repair the transmitter.Again, using just his hands..

KFNX went belly-up too...if the Battaglias are still in radio..it's underground.

Whew!!!......My faith in the power of Karma is restored. For a while there, I was fearful that they still had a hand in the present-day KFNX.

It's not nice to fool with Mother Karma. ;D

I listened to the KFNX stream the other day. I knew that things sounded way to professional for a Battaglia to be involved!

Well......That just makes my summer......

I'm certainly no legal eagle, but a casual "read-through" of the most recent KFNX application filed with the FCC reveals that Francis Battaglia has indeed kept a hand...(or is it PAW ??)...in the station, to the tune of 37.5 percent.

I've included the link, just in case someone else's interpretation proves me wrong.

PLEASE, LORD......Let me be wrong about this......Amen.

DR,

KFNX has had its share of problems..

Check out this thread:

Thanks for the link. Those three pages I've just read put me in mind of the title of that old Big Band Song......"It Seems to Me I've Heard That Song Before"...... Smells very strongly like what Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts had to suffer through with his 990 WALE.

Too bad... Phoenix is still infected with the "BadRadio" virus, and it sounds like a fairly strong strain.

We here in Southern New England are infected with a MUCH milder form of the virus, in the form of 1320 WARL......http://universal7radio.com/Home.php
