Offifcial Word on Fabulous 690

Tuesday the 31st is when the staff at XTRA 690 is terminated.

Music continues through February 4th.

The new staff takes over on Feb 5th. It's possible that a new Spanish language talk format will appear (the 9th anniversary of KSCA changing to a Spanish-language music format).

I remember hearing when they first signed on that the bulk of the staff did their Fabulous shift on top of other duties within Clear Channel. Is this still the case, or is anyone on the staff going to be lounging on the beach?

Because of the demos there are revenue challenges. But
more importantly they never really generated much in
the way of even 12+ numbers, (which would have been
heavy 55+) They had boards up, and a lot of CC hype,
but they were either too hip for the upper end of
their demos or not hip enough for the lower end.
Because they missed, badly. In a format that up
until recently was uncontested, they should have
been in the 2's.

This is just speculation, but the one person who is safe is Jim Duncan who has been the voice for most of CCLA/AM for years. Daisy Torme could wind up at KOST or even KKGO. Brad Chambers will probably be on a non-compete, unless Fabulous turns up somewhere else. Based on posts elsewhere probably not likely.

But if Saul ever needs a REAL PD, I guess Brad's the man.

Again, just speculation.
