Oficially country at 105.1

It was official as of Midnight.

Collin Raye was the first artist.

Levine may not be a hero to this area, but Nashville is loving him at the moment.

Sounds great if this was Kingman, Arizona. Processing is AWFUL. Songs are fading out to dead air before the next element hits. This is the exact same format as was on the AM side so you'd think they would have had this fixed months ago.

Well, it will be good to hear talents like Paul Freeman and Whitney Allen back on FM in L.A. Too bad they are coming out of Dial Global and aren't going to be local only hosts.

Country on the cheap courtesy of Saul.

At 4 AM, they were playing "By The Time I Get To Phoenix"....Glen Campbell. My opinion on this station just went down...

At 4:05 AM, they are playing "Just You and I" Eddie Rabbitt and Crystal Gale. Don't think I've played that since 1983 but I think I followed it up with a better song, 'Catch Scratch Fever" from Ted Nugent...nothing like pissing off your pd. Now, they'd call that a Jack segue.

This station needs to be Hot Country. It's a mess.

Listening to this station puts me in a Lite AC time warp from my days at K-Hits 97. I know a lot of the music and I've never worked or cared for country. They just played Eddie Rabbitt "Suspicions" which I don't think I've heard in 25 years. Legal i.d. is playing at the bottom of the hour rather than top.

Sean Parr signed on at 5 AM. The station is having technical problems. Music is clipping terribly. Parr is overmodulated.

Positioning statement is "Todays Hits and Yesterdays Favorites,, Go Country 105".

You would think it being LOS ANGELES they would have these problems solved before hitting the air. Amazing! :(

Must be CONsulted by the usual suspects :D

Webcast works, too bad. Station was thrown together, imaging light, audio sucks, mix of local and syndicated talent. KTPI in Lancaster sounds better.

I had the station on for a few minutes this morning before I deleted it from my presets.

They were doing shout-outs to people in Fullerton, Riverside and Palmdale. All cities with access to other country music stations. I did hear them mention the current temp in Burbank. I guess that guy I saw with a pink cowboy hat protesting in front of KMVN last fall will be happy.

There is NOTHING worse than a station that goes on the air without having all of its ducks in a row. Of course, that is the way XBACH was when it had its two runs in San Diego.

If I was running a country station in a big market I would make sure that I would bring in the best recognized PDs in the biz, get my TV ads and billboards goin' hard. Although 105.1 doesn't hit San Diego unless we're in a skip mode, I can only imagine that just because you have someone with a southern twang/drawl and a record player does not radio station make.

My God, he doesn't even seem to have a website up.....I wonder what Saul Levine's epitaph will be.

www.gocountry105.com Pathetic website.

Overnight this morning (Tuesday), it is still on Dial Global mainstream country satellite format as it has been since 10 AM on Monday. The only show that is live and local is Sean Parr's morning show.

Re: Officially country at 105.1

I own a small market station that runs Dial Global in two dayparts. My small station has more live dayparts than a station in L.A. Unbelievable! I understand having former LA jocks on the air, but isn't going to work! Can't even listen to the webstream.

Weak launch for the new Go Country! What a shame!

They'll get more currents on there and get things fixed... they know what they are doing... no worries. With Shawn Parr, Paul Freeman and Whitney Allen from KZLA on there, the station already has some familiarity... give it time.

Paul Freeman and Whitney Allen are not employees of Go Country 105. They're with Dial Global. And with middays going live, Paul Freeman won't be on anymore. Afternoons, which will remain Whitney Allen, will never reflect the tastes of Southern California since it is a satellite format.

If Saul Levine knew what he was doing, he wouldn't have to change formats on his AM stations all the time!

The phrase "no worries" is the last slacker retort to reality. Dial-Global
or Westwood One (same staff) is designed for small markets. Saul just
can't play in the majors like some mooch and expect to be a player.
Tonya's hire was for the record companies to lavish them with promos,
she's certainly not a major air personality.
