OH GOD WEATHER CHANNEL

THE WEATHER CHANNEL SUCK!!! WHAT IN THE WORLD.... THE TWO CLOWNS ON THE AIR COVERING THE TORNADO IN MISSISSIPPI, YAZOO CITY, ARE SO BAD.

THE GUY JUST ASKED A WEATHER CHASER WHY HE STOPPED IN YAZOO CITY.... THE WEATHER CHASER REPLIED, "BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE THE STORM WAS HAPPENING" REALLY!!! OF COURSE HE STOPPED WHERE THE STORM WAS HAPPENING YOU STUPID HACK.

MY GOD THE WEATHER CHANNEL IS SO BAD. WHO'S IN CHARGE IF THIS NEW CRAP PILE OF WEATHER CRAP.

Now the girl, and i say girl because they have not said their name nor been captioned since I've been watching, just said,

"My arm hairs are standing up (holds her arm in the air) thinking about these storms"

So bad, So bad, So bad.

I had them on earlier ... they had good reports from the field and from Dr. Greg Forbes, but yes, the "meteorologists" on duty were pretty sucky.

I used to want to work at TWC. Looking at them makes me seem competent.

Hmmmm, I wonder who that was and - more importantly - how she looks in a sleveless dress!! ;D  ;D

Funny you should say that because I feel exactly the same way!! Actually worked with a guy who was a TWC alum (way back when they were good) and he indicated that it was a mixed bag even then. Now, it has to be a really crappy place to work. Nor do they seem to be the breeding ground of excellent on-air Mets anymore. Watching them makes me glad that I shifted careers a number of years ago.

Any, to make matters worse, the damn movies are back! Oh brother..... ::)

I suppose we ought to be glad TWC is actually providing storm coverage tonight (Sat). Last night with the severe storm outbreak we got treated to a movie! Oh how the mighty have fallen!

I agree the girl on this afternoon was awful. I heard her more than once call Alexandra Steele "Alexander." Sheesh................

They let Kristina Abernathy go for this?!

I was watching earlier when they had a live tower cam shot of Louisville Kentucky from our NBC affiliate WAVE-TV. BOTH of them referred to it as Louisville Mississippi!! There is a slight difference between a town of 7000 people compared to a town of 713,877 people...it's called high rise buildings!! You would think that even if the producer was telling them in the IFB it was Louisville Mississippi, they could look at the video and tell it was of a town slightly larger.

And instead of crediting WAVE-TV, they credited WABE.

And no, neither one of them had their names supered the entire afternoon.

Way to go NBC, destroying the credibility of TWC when they can least afford to.

Yes, I heard a promo for something like "forecast and a flick". Good Gawd.

Last week it was Groundhog's Day, admittedly a decent move, but it fits on the weather channel, why? Because one of the characters is a weatherman? Give me a break.

What's next? Anchorman? Because they have a weatherman? What has TV become?

To quote Butt-Head from MTV:
"Whoa... Is this, like, The Weather Channel?"

I live in the Jackson, MS area and the weather maps were on every channel, but wasn't really paying much attention too it because I was on the computer. I didn't even know about the tornado in Yazoo City until later that afternoon. I just heard the classic line "It sounded just like a big old freight train" BTW, one local reporter will sometimes fish for that sound bite after a tornado. If the person doesn't say it on his own, he will sometimes ask the tornado victim "could you describe what the tornado sounded like?" Just once I'd like to see someone refuse to take the bait and give him some bogus answer just to annoy him. Of course it won't make the montage they will use for a news promo for the next six months.

The Weather Channel doesn't exist anymore.
There's a channel with that name, but they don't really do weather.
It's more like NBC's environmental documentary news channel.

Woohoo...I loved TWC and their flick last night connected to weather...."The Avengers" from 1998...

The listing last night on DirecTV?

"Two British agents (John Steed and Emma Peel) team up to stop Sir August De Wynter from destroying the world with a weather changing machine."

Ugh...John Coleman must really be crying these days...

Exactly. All that long-form crap. ::)

I don't want movies, I don't want documentaries, I don't want Cantore
standing in the middle of a storm, I don't want "Wake Up With Crap."

I want local on the eights! (Oh, and even that doesn't work sometimes
even when they're doing real weather. On occasion the national filler
slips through on the 8s. Closed circuit for the techs: WX ID 022329.)

Everyone beat me to it. Was surfing the other night and there was a movie on the Weather Channel! That, along with "Wake Up with Al" makes the Weather Channel just about unwatchable!

Well, you at least have to give the crack staff at TWC for at least coming up with a movie with a plot somewhat relevant to weather to put on the air... sure beats the hell out of choosing "Misery" as their "Weather And A Movie" feature presentation...

Sad. TWC used to provide a valuable service. I'm unclear why they got away from that (oh wait....it was probably greed). But whatever, TWC is now a mess.

Chances are the weather girl was a reporter from the local NBC affiliate. The Weather Channel used to use ABC affiliate reporters for live reports. Since NBC took over, it's been their affilliate reporters, with a noticeable decrease in quality, especially a very poor "reporter" with NBC's Dallas station.

I differ on Cantore. He and Dr. Forbes are the 2 legit stars of that network. Jim Cantore loves reporting weather and it shows...he's got the chops, intelligence and energy to pull it off.

The network's low point is "Wake Up with Al," no doubt.

On some cable systems there is a sister service called "WeatherScan", Time Warner does not offer it, but should for those who doesn't like the direction "The Weather Channel" has headed, it's a shame a network that John Coleman created has come to this!
