OH MY GOD I CAN STREAM WMVY

Having a dial-up connection, anytime I've tried to listen to streaming it's been exasperating with constant buffering, drop-out, etc...but at www.mvyradio.com they have a low band streaming option that's great. It's quick & I've had no problems. If you can't go 10 minutes without hearing Beyonce or Rob Thomas, don't even bother but if you're looking for a station that plays rock, country, blues, reggae, folk, world music, etc then MVY is the one.

the problem with MVY is that, yes, once you tune in after not having listened to it for a while, it sounds great. Songs you havent heard in a while, deep cuts, blah blah blah. but, after listening for a few days, you will hear the same aritsts over and over again, especially the same songs from the classic rock genre. I guess they think their target demo is 50+, because (and I'm a pretty hip 43 year old) I cant imagine any 30-35 person that will suffer thru hearing Up on Cripple Creek or The Weight or Shakedown Street or Cinnamon Girl or Stop Draggin my heart around or anything by Carly Simon ONE MORE FREAKING TIME just so they can hear the new Amos Lee song.

Keep in mind I haven't listened to them much but they way you describe them doesn't differentiate them from most other stations. They apparently play a core playlist of classics along with new music, which from checking out the website is more varied than what you hear anything else & based less on charts than what fits their image.
