Oh no! I hope this isn't who I think it is.

Reading over this article on buysellradio.com, it sure sounds like KVST/Willis. With the new antenna and transmitter in the last 2 years, it's listening area which includes SHSU, and it's class A status, it sounds eerily plausible. If so, this would be a total loss for everyone north of FM 1960. One of a few remaining locally O&O stations left in the area. Any thoughts?

It's doubtbul that KTWL would be moving on this. They don't have any money.

If I had the money, I'd go with a well programmed modern hot ac station leaning CHR, and take out Bob.

Montgomery and Walker counties have rapidly become high-dollar extensions of the Houston market. I understand that the average household income in The Woodlands is over 100k. Advertisers like that. While the current Country format on KVST might seem to fit the target area, there might be significant room for growth by going in another direction.

However I could see 99.7 winding up as a satellite-fed religious outlet, perhaps running K-Love or Air-1. Would also fit the local demographics.

The population figures seems too small as described by the coverage for KVST. Also, isn't Montgomery County's growth rate much higher than 2% a year?

Could be a station like KNBT 92.1 New Braunfels...population figures described within the contours sounds like it. It also has city grade coverage to San Marcos which has the larger Texas State University. It also reguarly shows up in the San Antonio Arbitrons (about a .5 share).
