OH NO..Stern Channels soon a "premium service"??

Is this RIGHT? My God! This was predictable.

Soon you'll get to pay twice to hear that guy. We should just all start sending him money..and forget the middleman.

No comercials..is it worth it to YOU?

Somebody has to pay for all those stock options he got. Plus Stern's had plastic surgery twice and those operations are not cheap!

OMG !!! If Stern has had plastic surgury, he needs to sue his doctor. XM used to have Opie and Anthony as a premium service, but nobody subscribed, so XM raised the price to everyone and threw them in for good measure.

If the Howard Stern channel's go to a premium service then I just wont listen. I dont mind the few commercials that play hear or there. I dealt with them on WBZZ AM 1010 as everyone else has on any regular station they listened to him on. I dont find his show THAT important to pay more for. He fits well with the regular service. The only thing is i'll lose listening to Bubba but oh well. Blame it on Stern. The man is getting greedy now.

Of course not! This board is full of people who make a damn good living doing production and voice work for commercials. I just do it as a side gig,(My main paycheck is also from commercial radio.) but I sure enjoy the extra pocket change that it brings me, and my family just got some pretty neat Christmas presents that were paid for by radio commercials. Therefore, I'll have to say "No!"

Even if I wasn't in the business, I would be pretty pissed off if I joined a subscription service like satellite radio so that I could hear my favorite shows, only to find out later that they changed their minds and I am going to be fleeced of more cash each month, or I still won't be allowed to hear it.

Re: OH NO..Stern Channels a "premium service"??

...and again, since this topic is satellite, and Howard is no longer on "radio" could we move this thread to the Bird Board?

Can anyone CONFIRM this? I can't find any affirmative references.... or am I not looking in the right places, perhaps? Anyone?
Thanks,
