Oh No, the World is Coming to an end!!!

Here We Go Again

Can I suggest about 40 channels that they might drop in order to reduce carriage fees? Or, how about an "ala carte" approach?

I personally long for the day of decent, reliable IPTV. Either that, or FIOS TV in my neighborhood.

Viacom isn't blameless in this dispute. Sumner Redstone is desperate to extract more money from his holdings in order to pay off some of his massive debt.

I posted this partly out of jest since I have to endure SpongeBob Squarepants when my four year old granddaughter comes to visit. Some episodes are funny, most are not. As for Colbert; he's a poor imitation of Jon Stewart.

With regards to "ala carte" I just don't see the cable industry offering that to subscribers.

How many cable subscribers would want to pay for Billy Mays trying to sell us everything from false teeth glue to garden tools that can find oil?

When it comes to paid religious programs; forget cable TV giving up that source of revenue.

I currently have digital television and while I don't have a beef with Time Warner, I really don't think it's fair that a number of channels down the dial are the same ones being offered from channels 3- 70.

I work for the 'FiOS" Company, but here in Rochester. I have been wanting it since it first came out 3+ years ago in TX. With Frontier being the incubant Local Telephone Company it will be a cold day in he!! (its cold now, but not that cold yet) before they allow FiOS installation in the area, let alone come up with a similar product.

I personally have Direct TV, I'm satisifed with it, even though there are a FEW times a year that we loose signal (only becasue of a severe rain storm) but it only lasts for a few minutes, then its back. Plus I'll still get the aforementioned channels and the NFL Network to boot...

Now that Viacom and Time Warner has settled their dispute I am wondering if this deal will mean TW customers will have to pay more for cable service in the near future? Don't be surprised if the cable company announces another rate increase this year.

You Must Be Clairvoyant

Got the T-W flier today. Around a $5.00 increase in rates for digital cable.
