Oh shut the F up!

Can some one please explain it to me on why MMR's "morning zoo" rates so well.I am flabbergasted with the attemped comedy which 90% of it is "in house" jokes which only the bodies in their studio would get.The wacky topics they have, which you can tell have been ripped off a comedy service due to the forced delivery of them. And every break I heard this morning was about some bimbo on a webcam.SHUT UP!!!!
 Yes I know,if you don't like it turn my radio off or go & listen to another station. The only thing this bunch is good for is the cure for insomnia.I've had enough of garbage.

I am a fan of Preston and Steve... have been listening from their morning start on Y100. So I'm a bit biased.

They do so well because they connect with Philadelphia. They tie their show deep into Philadephia's roots. The listener doesn't care if it's a comedy service or Steve writing his own material, as long as it's funny to them. If it makes them laugh, they'll tune in regularly.

As for the "in-house" jokes... sure, there are some that fly over people's heads. Loyal listeners will get them most of the time. New people tuning in have shown that they pick up on them too.

Preston and Steve have built themselves in as your morning family. Whether it's a ridiculous contest, funny topic of conversation, or insight from the hosts lives... they've connected with the average listener.

As for the "bimbo" they're talking about... hell... I'd be distracted too if I had someone like that in MY studio in the morning ;D

I'll tell you why...NO SERIOUS COMPETITION, I agree it is the most lamest show,

And Caseyboy is the biggest dork who thinks we care what he has to say..

Which is precisely why I hate cameras in radio studios.

The hosts (and they all do it: Stern, Imus, O&A) use it as a crutch. Instead of telling the listeners what's going on, they say "hey, you gotta check this out on" (our website, on E!, on Howard TV, whatever). Hey, guys, you do radio. So, do radio. If you must do television, please don't do it on the radio.

It's a money-making thing. Direct them to the website. Sell ads on the website. Profit. It might not be the best thing for radio, but it's another source of income.

It all depends on whether or not the person on the radio is qualified to be seen on a webcam...
