Am I the only one that get's a kick out of hearing the NAB spots running talking about radio and how it should be free, only to be followed in a break with a Radio Shack commercial talking about XM?

Amusing, but such conflicts are commonplace now. The days of stations guaranteeing product exclusivity in the same break are long gone.

My favorite is hearing four different car dealers all back to back. I've also heard three political candidates for the same office run one after the other as well.

But revenue is revenue, and stations will take it however they can. Obviously the advertisers aren't upset about conflicting spots, or for the most part don't want to pay any premium for exclusivity.

No, they talk your ears off with LAME sweepers and promos about how great they are. I've had XM for awhile now and I'm sooo burned on it. I think terrestrial radio might be right when they say CONTENT will beat satellite radio. There is no CONTENT on the music channels of XM. Just song after song after song after trying-to-be-funny-sweeper after song... That's cool for a few weeks, but then it's just boring. I can hear that for free at home, or on a CD or iPod.

There's no content on terrestrial radio, either. At least, there's talk radio!
