Oh Those Editors and Directors

I have been enjoying the Rockford Files on RTV. I have noticed that they were very careless when it came to the later shows. In one scene you see the more modern Firebird with the 4 rectangular headlights and a second later you see the older model from another scene with the 2 round headlights. Ummm, do you think the editors would have realized their mistake and gotten another recent model car to match the current one?

Must have been the same group of people responsible for the movie, As Good As It Gets.

If we didn't have continuity errors like that, then we would never have TV shows "jumping the shark," now would we? (That was intended to be a joke, but there are no longer smilies here.)

On a more serious note, it might have simply been less expensive to just let the scene go, with the older car's headlights, than to go to the expense of reshooting the same scene with the newer car.
