As the Wow Factor has transitioned away from their original premise (play dissimilar types of music with frequent train wrecks), its ratings have greatly improved: 1.5-3.3 in four monthlies. KOAI is now the top rated Riviera station in the Valley, beating out Hot 97~Five KMVA and Power 98~Three KKFR. No doubt the Wow Factor has pulled audience from Oldies 92~Seven/Lumberyard 14~Forty, but they're getting listeners from elsewhere. KAZG has remained flat the past four months with a 1.0 share.

I'm flying in tonight to spend the weekend. I'm curious to hear how they've tightened up.

That costs $$$. He also said the demos for this format are an untapped Gold Mine for advertisers. Can the ratings uptick lead to revenue? That's the X (WOW) Factor...

I finally caved and began listing to 95.1 yesterday and found it quite likeable. Sort of like my all time fav KOOL of old. Even Danny Davis was on the mic spinning stax of wax.
