Ok, first WCBS Aircheck

...And yet another segment [urhttp://www.sendspace.com/file/tctq07l][/url]

38min

Oh, and "Mike" take your spamming to another thread, and tell your buddies that their feed doesn't work.

Lino

LinoNYC, cheers for your "bootleg" recording and for taking the time to record and share it!

I've downloaded and heard them both. Let's see, 76mins (and now more) of as Borat would say, wow-wee-wuh-wah extremely decent stereo 256kbps/44khz quality vs. the 28min stereo 64/22 "real deal" quality recording..... i rest me case. 8)

WELCOME BACK WCBS-FM 101.1!

I am from Southeastern Mass. and two of my friends (that will probably see this thread later) traveled to NYC to hear the re-launch. I was originally going to go, but I had other obligations and I was stuck here at home. :(

LinoNYC... I want to send a big THANK YOU for posting those airchecks. I downloaded all 3 of them, and the quality is next to none. It's great to hear that great CBS-FM audio chain (reverb and all) in almost perfect quality (perfect to the human ear at least) :)

By the way, what HD receiver do you own? I have the JVC car radio model that has a built in HD tuner.

Long Live CBS-FM! :)

Shameless plug for any old friends that might remember me from the Providence board... I'm back into radio part-time, weekends on Lite Rock 105 in Providence as of next weekend. Looking forward to getting back behind the mic again :)

101.1 WCBS Aircheck

Here is a 34-minute segment of 101.1 - the last 5 of Jack, the montage and the first 10 or so of CBS-FM. It was recorded in stereo, not over the Internet, but via my radio. This segment was saved at 128 kbps.

Many, many thanks for the airchecks ... a true preservation of history. Thanks, too, for blasting the spammer.

Great quality, guys ... and exceptional listening. Thank you each for taking the time for these treasures.

One last file on this (from me atleast) I had to leave and I let the machine record a 58min-107mb chunk of Bill Lee's first show: http://www.sendspace.com/file/q4afd9

By the way, what HD receiver do you own? I have the JVC car radio model that has a built in HD tuner.

I used an Acurian HD w/tone set to "normal" (flat) into an Extigy A-D converter. I used an old copy of MusicMatch ca. 2001 to record realtime MP3. I set level by test recording/playback.

BTW: If you want a comprehensive ripper-recorder-encoder free, the older versions of MusicMatch are still seen as the standard. I use it in WinXP-pro.

GoTo: Oldversion.com http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=mmatch

I believe I use version 5.1

Thanks to all for responses and e-mails, Lino

Totally agree....thanks Lino!!!!!

I suppose it's all how you look at it.

I recorded the last half hour and the first 5 hours on a hi-fi VCR in my office but i hadn't had the time to convert it from the tape. Thank goodness for the folks kind enough to post the mp3 version - at least I can have it on my iPod until I get a chance to convert the tape to CD. Since I was out of the office most of the day I didn't get a chance to listen in "real time" but at least I can do a "rewind" on part of the day.
