..I'm finally getting around to upgrading my mic pre, which I will use in tandem with my dbx286A I've narrowed it down to 3 choices (that I can afford):..

The True systems P-solo
Grace designs 101
Summit Audio 2BA-221

I've heard lot's of good things about the 1st 2, the guy at the Pro-audio store here in Nashville raves about the Summit (which can be used with a tube or Solid state)..anyone have any experience with these?..btw I use a Neumann TLM-103

The P-Solo is ultra, ultra clean. So is the Grace. I would have a hard time choosing a favorite. They sound very close to each other and are almost the same price.

The Summit is a little different. It has continuously variable impedance, so you can really dial in the sound you want. You can match the preamp perfectly to the mic.

I think I would probably eliminate the Grace...I think I like the P-Solo a tad bit better, but I can't even tell you why. And the Summit is different. Can you go and Audition them side-by-side?

i'd go with the Summit.Read all the reviews on each model .only thing i don't care for in the Grace is the wall wart. The Summitt has the most flexibility for tweaking different mics.IMHO

Hands down...I'm in love with the P-Solo...

I mean, it's to the point where my wife is worried.

Not really...but really...

I love the P-Solo, and the larger counterpart, the P-2 Analog.

My faves...travel with the Solo, the P-2 is in my rack at home.
