102.5 THE PARTY used to be a Rhythmic Dance Leaning Chr in the late 90s. Also, 107.5 used to play some Dance, Before they became (THE RIVER) and became more of an Adult Friendly-Rock Leaned Chr....By the way, your Punctuation, Spelling, and Grammer is even worse than mine, Does your computer keyboard not do capital letters bro?---LOL........I couldnt see Nashville getting another Dance Friendly Station, unless one of the CHRs launch an (HD TWO) sub-channel. Ask Chrles what he thinks about Dance Music in Music City, I believe he lives there now. Am I right Charlie???

Yes sir. I moved up here in May, though I've been to "Nash-Vegas" (what a cheesy name LOL) many times before.
Would be cool to see a Z-103.5 Toronto style station that plays a lot of different types of crossover Dance, the more upbeat Hip Hop, and big Rock/Pop anthems. Z is also famous for its live to air shows, ie its nightly mixshows. 107.5 The River somewhat tries this format on Saturday nights at 11 PM, following Open House party.
I think either that type of Dance friendly CHR, or a Rhythmic/AC ala Diva in Louisiana would have a better shot here then a 95.3 Party type of station.
Then again, Nashville doesn't have a Rhythmic CHR (The Beat is great, but is too Urban with its R&B ballads to be a Rhythmic), so maybe a Rhythmic that is 75 percent crossover Hip Hop/R&B, and 25 percent Dance would work...with cool Dance shows on the weekend.

Most of the clubs in Nashville, except for a couple of gay establishments, aren't known for playing too much Dance. It was different a few years ago with Liquid, and I think there was Outer Limits, both had Electronic Dance nights. Exit on occasion brings in a big out of town DJ, but it's not a weekly affair.

What is cool is that Voodoofest has been moved to Memphis, so Tiesto (who's already spun in Nashville) and Carl Cox will be in Tennessee in October. Oh, and Andy Moor (his tracks get played by everyone from Oakie, to PVD, Tiesto, and Armin) will be in Louisville in December.

Well, Party 102.5 just flipped formats to Hot Ac, so I Guess we can rule out Dance on 102.5 for a while. That Leaves Nashville with only one Local CHR. Kicks 106.9 might be audible in some parts of town, and they play occassional 90s and early 00 Dance, but few and far between.

Magic 98.5 is probably the most audible out-of-market CHR. WGIC Magic 98.5 is from the same town as Kicks FM - Cookeville (an hour and half east of Nashville on I-40). They have their own 90s retro hour at lunch, and it's quite good :)
http://www.magic985.com/main.html

The second most audible out-of-market CHR is All hit Whoohoo 107.1 out of Bowling Green (45 minutes north-east of Nashville via I-65). The variety is GREAT, the repetition is much lower then other CHRs. In Bowling Green it's easy to pick up both 107.5 The River and Woohoo 107:
http://www.allhitwuhu107.com/

The third best audible CHR, especially on car radios is 106.9 (& 100.9 FM) Kicks FM. They're easiest to pick up east of the city along I-40, around Lebanon.

Even Huntsville's 104.3 ZYP can be heard in southern portions of the metro area. Huntsville is 2 hours south of Nashville, via I-65.

I can also at times pick up in my car Hot 96.1 out of Evansville (which competes in Evansville with 106.1 Kiss FM), and Electrinc 96.9 Paducah. Sadly Electric 96.9 is much more of an Adult CHR these days (105.5 The Cat is Paducah's Mainstream CHR). but still has great variety.

I've noticed that in the south a lot of markets have 2 CHRs. This trends starts in Jacksonville (where north meets south - northern Florida), Florida with WAPE 95.1 The Big Ape, versus 97.9 Kiss FM. Charleston right now is obviously another such market with 95 SX and the new B-92. Louisville has both 98.9 Kiss FM, and 99.7 DJX. Atlanta is somewhat another such case with Q-100 (they're about to get a great power increase) and the watered down Adult leaning CHR, Star 94.
Mobile has Hot 104 and 97.5 ABB. Chattanooga right now has 98.1 Kicks FM, and Alilve 95 out of nearby Cleveland, TN.
Roanoke has K-92 and 101.7/106.1 WJJS
This trend ends in another market where north meets south - Cincinnati. The market has Kiss 107, and the more Adult leaning Q-102, which is much more of a CHR then a Hot A/C.

I can get quite a few Distant CHRs in St. louis too. Ive got Z107.7 of course, and I can also somtimes pick up 92.7 KISS Carbondale, as well as 101.5 CILfm in Carbondale. Also Faintly hear Y103---102.9 from Decatur, We get 103.7 Springfield. Probably the most audible CHR in St. Louis, other than KSLZ of course, is probably Y107--106.9 from the Columbia-Jefferson City market. Which is about 130 miles from Downtown St. Louis. I can pick this up clear as a bell, out at Mid Rivers Mall, and all through St. Peters, and St. Charles, and it comes in all the way to Downtown ST. Louis, and then it disappears out into a blanket of static through Downtown, and then it comes Right Back in. Then as soon as you get past all those On Ramps, and Over Passes, and up on the Bridge, and it still comes in with a Weak Signal along I-70 all the way to (SILVER LAKE REST AREA), which is 30 miles east of St. Louis. That station actually covers a total of about 170 miles before it completely fades out. I have even picked it up in Central Indiana at my Parents house, My old House during E-skip, and thats 400 miles. I think ST. Louis MO, could support another Local Chr.
