Yesterday I wrote a story about Pope Bennedict and a vist to San Francsico and it was deleted by the board editor.
Ok the story about the Pope visitng here and him running into Kenny from Concord and Vern White was totally made up. However the point of the story is all true.
Many of us including Kenny and Vern White would love to hear Rock N' Roll Oldies on 1260 KHz. and not another religious outlet. If they and myself had some influence we would prefer the Bay Area's next religious outlet to be on a different frequency with all due respect to Catholic Radio.
Since we are in the broadcasting business, adding a flare to stories makes life more interesting. In the story that I embelished it should have been easy to read in between the lines.
There are two lendedary frequencies here; 610 KHz, the former KFRC which is now Family Radio and 1260 Khz. which was the original KYA.
The ending queston still remains........will the Pope's followers make the walk up Candle Stick Hill and get the keys to the building?
I hope that the foregoing meets the approval of the board editior, so let's get some responses on this important issue and station.
