Here's what's in play in Burlington, Vt.
First, WIZN would never have Corm back, that's a burnt bridge that can never be fixed!
Secondly, I have it on good authority that CC regional is playing with the idea of flipping CHAMP from Classic Rock to an active rock "101.3 THE SNAKE." The plan is to put Mancow on in the morning displacing the failing Corm.
This seems like a very good move as it would really put the screws to Burlington Broadcasters. A good active rock would slice WIZN and WBTZ dramatically. Corm would not gain any listeners when Stern leaves, the most likely beneficiaries would be WBTZ and WXXX in that order.
I know this was a scenario CC was playing with for the end of December, I have no information whether they would accelerate this plan if the Stern departure date should move up.
This seems like a good play, as CC has nothing to lose by dumping Champ, and both WIZN and WBTZ are very vulnerable. If and when this plays out, it will be interesting to say the least.

Yeah, the people who listened to Stern are going to turn to a female-targeted station for their morning fix instead of the other classic rock station. Even if Stern fans don't care about Corm and the Coach, Champ has been around long enough to stay in the minds of Wizard listeners as the station to flip to when you don't want to listen to the Wizard. It's always funny when somebody spews silliness like this with their first post.

Although it just hit me...maybe B-town is the place for the "alt lifestyle" station...Only, I guess it would not be a lesb. station...more one for the fellas...you know "THE SNAKE"...."Have you seen the SNAKE?" Maybe a bunch of imaging with vocal drops like "I love the SNAKE!!" and "have you let the SNAKE coil around you??"
