Ok "Scott", if it's really you...

Explain to us why you aren't the most inept, mismanaging, egocentric, clueless PD in the whole of DFW? Tell us why you thought it was a good idea to take your proven record of disaster and tell people like Bo Roberts how to do a job that he's been doing longer, and better, than you. I'd like to know how you justify it, when the numbers were good, you took the credit and then when after you started actually programming the new format, the numbers started to take a dive and you blamed that on the talent (when they hadn't changed, but you thought playing "Crazy Train" every 15 minutes was a good idea)? I'd also like to know how you could fire Channing, even though she wasn't the problem, and then give her job to "Squeky", who surely didn't have a clue, just because he kissed your @$$. And the REALLY good decision to let that faux biker "Stripe" have his own show (he may have had a face made for radio but his voice was made for the hearing impaired). And so on... it's just been one giant F'up after another. Firing Randy James so that suckup of a hack "Comedian" could take his job (another good idea... a redneck comedian on a Rock station) And how did that decision to put Billy H on the the morning work out for ya? Yeah, great ideas you had there Scott. Fire Channing, Fire Yvonne, Fire Randy, Run off Bo and replace all the people who was getting those big numbers with losers and hacks. You're in last place because you replaced all the good talent with crap (not to mention, your music selection / rotation sucks) Oh, and PLEASE explain to us how you've kept your job all this time? That's a mystery to ALL of us.

Go ahead, I'm waiting.

Don't forget that awful wrestling show on Sunday nights!! Talk about TOO much plotting and brainstorming and guesswork as to what guys want to listen to. Some people have intuition, and others just fake it~~they run their little ideas past employees too scared to tell you it's horrible, and Scott comes away thinking he's on to something good. Then I hear stories that Jeff K demanded each jock plan out every show in advance, down to the exact liner cards to be read, and email it to him in advance for his stamp of approval. People are supposed to thrive in that kind of environment? No wonder the good ones bailed out. It's like a little Clear Channel over there~~~ or worse. Oh, and the listeners noticed the bad karma, too. Remember when Bo got fired? That's when Bone's ratings dropped so bad in one book that they had to have achieved a 0.0 over one month to make the addition work!! How DO you explain that to corporate? Or is that really the problem, the crazies are running the insane asylum and the guards just don't care?

I wouldn't expect a response over the weekend. He's probably tied up with the realtor and the estate sale people.

I understand people voicing their opinions on a radio station they don't particularly like. But good grief, some of you guys need to learn how to calm down. It's like the Bone fired you, stole your wife, set fire to your house and then backed over your dog on the way out of the driveway. Seriously. Chill out.

Yeah, the thing is, there's not enough time to list ALL the screwups that Skolnick and crew have done the past 4 years. The list is just sooooooooooo long.

What are houses in 'Lakewood' going for these days anyway? I guess Scott is going to find out.

My beef has more to do with what the Bone COULD have been and what it really was. There was a great first three months when they flipped formats at the Bone, then some idiot started tinkering with the playlist, then rumors started flying around from insiders that Jeff was programming it only to his tastes and not trusting listener input. For listeners starved from losing Q102 and for the ones sick of Max, Schelby and Company at KZPS and their lack of programming skills, people had some faith in what the Bone was doing. INITIALLY. Great reviews, even from the sickos on this board (me included.)

I don't know Scott, but I know enough about what role he plays in the mix there. There's plenty of blame that falls on his shoulders, and Jeff's and others as well. I don't lose sleep over this, it's not an issue, I just don't listen to the station anymore. 18 presets on my car stereo and no place made for Bone. For me being a target listener, I'm very disappointed in what happened over there. Doc and company at KYNG/KLLI programmed some great rock music on weekends as filler a few years back at 105.3, and it seemed, INITIALLY, that the Bone was taking a cue from that. Then Jeff and Scott get involved and screwed it all up. All this is now is an opportunity to point out that Cumulus would be complete morons to let these excuses for programmers and managers continue to stay at the station after the sale, and that firing them will finally avenge their Bone-headed decisions like letting Bo go (and others) plus all the programming mis-steps along the way.

One main problem that stands out is Scott doesn't feel he did anything wrong nor does Jeff K.It's like they are detached from the universe of common sense. They both probably feel that The Bone is the best station in DFW, and blame the signal for poor ratings. How could that be when just a few years ago The Bone on its initial launch beat KZPS? How has Scott managed to remain as PD,when a normal station would have issued walking papers along time ago? The station is a blot on professional broadcasting. It's only a milimeter higher than Schum's 990 debacle.

You don't get it, do you ???

It's not really about who got fired. That's periphial.....
When it all comes down to it..... it't the MUSIC --NOT-- BEING PLAYED,
and the C-R-A-P-L-O-A-D OF MUSIC that IS being played on The Bone, the Sation that Rocks Harder.(Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha . . .)

If a station played cool music and not the same tired old hits, then it wouldn't really matter that much who was "spinning the discs"....

Inegrity --- is just a word in the dictionary for the owners and operators of Susquehana . . . .

between Incredulous and Inexcusable....

Oh I get it allright.

I just refuse to let a blood vessel in my head burst over it.

How do you know how Scott and Jeff K feel? Just asking. Did you talk to either of them? If so, can you share with us what they said?

CHANNING: surely you can clear up some of the questions about who got fired and who left and why. Obviously you were very close to the situation. If you don't want to, that's cool too. I just thought you could give the board some real insight.

Others claim to have worked there, but you are the only one using your real name, so I'd come closer to believing you than any of us posting without a real name.

I would imagine that Scott would never be able to publicly "pull back the curtain" and give his side. And why would he? I guess airing the dirty laundry would be frowned on by HR. That's why everyone (excluding Channing) posts under assumed names and hidden identities. Not saying, just pointing out the obvious.

So, unless someone comes forward under their own name, we only have one side of the story. The side of former employees. Does anyone ever "lose" a job and not have mean things to say?

I've never worked for Scott and/or Jeff K, so I have nothing to share. Just felt kinda bad for the dude.

DUDE: On a FEW occasions I visited a friend there. Scott and Jeff would either brag or state they were making the right decisions. This carried on to a some social get togethers as well. There's your answer.

Dude: You are trying to SMOKE someone out,and perhaps costing them a gig or future gig. That's not nice. You don't post under your own name,so why should you expect others to do the same? You have heard of the old expression,"You can't have it both ways".Haven't you?
>

DUDE: You say that alot, but the credibility of such a statement is very weak, however it is consistent with the programming philosophy of The Bone.

Myself, Scott, Dan Bennett and HR are the only people that know the facts regarding my departure. If I am asked what happened, chances are, the response I give is generic. I can only speak for myself and my situation and I prefer to keep things between the parties involved and off public forums. If I see/read something that involves myself and is not accurate, I may or may not address it, depends on the subject matter and what kind of mood I am in. :) So, basically what happened with me is, it just didn't work out, we broke up. ;)

The time I worked for Scott, I never knew him to "air dirty laundry". HR or no HR, I don't think it's his style. That's just my observation.

Channing - fair enough.
KPLXCOMPLEX - if Scott and Jeff K have said those things to you directly ... fair enough.

Also, not trying to smoke anyone out. Don't particularly care. Was just very bugged that it seemed to be a dogpile and an unfair fight with folks slinging barbs and calling for his death. Just harsh.

I felt bad for him, and Jeff K, as a matter of fact. They are people too.

I'll resume reading and not posting (maybe).

Allow me to clarify. They spoke in a group setting, not to me personally, however I was present.

It was not really an unfair fight. Scott and Jeff have the same opportunity to respond as everone else. They chose not to for fear of their jobs( hence why many have character names) or could not defend their decisions with a good conscience knowing they screwed up.
